Download All Record Data
Download All Record Data saves everything stored as data on the Record to a file named RecordData.csv, which your browser downloads like any other file. It is on the Record screen under the Admin Actions menu in the footer and is available to Administrators.
The file has three columns: DataName, DataValue and LineNumber. Header fields have a line number of 0 and line item fields carry the number of the line they belong to. Rows are ordered by line number and then by field name, so the header fields come first and each line item's fields are grouped together. Values that contain commas, quotes or line breaks are quoted, so the file opens cleanly in a spreadsheet.
Every stored value is included, not just the fields the Record Type displays. System values whose names begin with @, and values left behind by fields that were later removed from the Record Type, are all in the file, which is what makes it useful when you are trying to work out what a Record really holds or where a value came from. The one exception is table data, which is left out because its stored names are not readable in this layout; use View Table Data to see it.
The download shows the Record as it is now. To see how a value changed over time, open the Change Logs report from the Reports button in the footer, and to put a value back use Revert Record Data. To export a set of Records to one file instead, with a row per Record, use the Download CSV options on the search results screen.
