Create an E-form with AI
This Builder AI feature turns an existing form — or just a description — into an E-form, detecting the fields and laying them out for you.
Available when Builder AI Limit is set greater than zero (Admin > Main Options > AI) and your site is licensed for AI.
How to access it
From the Admin > E-forms list you can start it three ways:
- Click the AI button on the E-forms toolbar (*Create E-form from Description*).
- Drag and drop a PDF, Word document or image onto the E-forms list.
- Choose Create from AI in the template chooser when adding a new E-form.
Choose a source
- Upload Document — a PDF, Word document or image of the form (`.pdf, .docx, .jpg, .png, .gif, .webp`), up to 10 MB.
- Scan Document — scan a paper form directly (Windows, with a connected scanner).
- Describe Your Form — no file at all; just describe the form you want, e.g. "an employee onboarding form with personal details, emergency contact and a signature".
You can add optional instructions about layout or styling, and you must accept the AI usage charge before it runs.
What you get
The conversion runs in the background. When it finishes, you are taken to the Config Manager to preview the new E-form and import it. As with all Builder AI, nothing is added to your live configuration until you import it.
TIPS
- A clean, high-resolution source produces better field detection than a faint scan.
- Use the optional instructions to fix things the source can't convey — required fields, field grouping, or which field should be the signature.
- After importing, open the E-form in the designer to fine-tune field types and validation.
NOTE ON (AI): Creating an E-form with AI consumes tokens from the Builder pool and may incur extra fees. Check with your sales rep for more information. Please verify all results, as AI can make mistakes.
