Edit & Build with AI


Builder AI lets an administrator create and change DocMgt configuration from a plain-language description instead of building every field, page and action by hand. It can work on Record Types, E-forms, Workflows, Add-Ins and Action Sets.


Available when Builder AI Limit is set greater than zero (Admin > Main Options > AI) and your site is licensed for AI.


Two ways to use it


Edit an existing object with AI - While editing a configuration object (an Action Set, Record Type, Workflow, Add-In, User, Team or E-form), use the AI / Edit with AI button. Describe the change you want — "add an approval step routed to the AP team", "add a Total field that sums the line items" — and the AI proposes the updated object.


Build from a description - Describe what you need and let the AI create the objects from scratch using Config Manager. For a large, multi-object build (a whole department or process), use SOW Builder, which interviews you first (see SOW Builder).


What you provide


Instructions — a plain-language description of what to create or change (required).

Source files (optional) — attach reference documents (for example a sample form) to guide the build. Word documents are converted to PDF automatically.

Billing acceptance — confirm you accept the AI usage charge before it runs.


What you get


Building runs in the background. When it finishes, you are taken to the Config Manager to preview the proposed objects and import the ones you want. Nothing is changed in your live configuration until you import it — so you always get to review first.


TIPS


  1. Be specific about names, fields and routing. "Add a Status dropdown with values New, In Review, Approved" beats "add a status field".
  2. Review carefully in the Config Manager before importing — treat the AI's output as a strong draft, not a finished build.
  3. For anything spanning several objects, start with SOW Builder so the AI can ask clarifying questions first.


NOTE ON (AI): Builder AI consumes tokens from the Builder pool and may incur extra fees. Check with your sales rep for more information. Please verify all results, as AI can make mistakes.
