A Document List shows a record's documents as a clickable list. On its own it is a table of contents; paired with a Document Viewer it becomes a reading screen of your own design, with the list on one side and the document on the other.

Choosing what is listed

Record ID - The record whose documents are listed. Leave it blank to use the record the form is open in, or point it at a field so the list follows whatever the user last selected.

Document Category, Document SubCategory and Document Name - Narrow the list. Leave them blank to list everything in the record.

Advanced

Open First Document - Opens the first document in the list as the form loads, so the user is looking at something rather than at an empty viewer.

Auto Open Categories - Starts with the category groups expanded rather than collapsed. Turn it on for a record with only a handful of documents, and leave it off where there are many and the collapsed grouping is what makes the list readable.

Building a viewer screen

Put a Document List and a Document Viewer side by side in a Split Columns or Flexible Columns container, both pointed at the same record. The list drives the viewer, and the user can move between documents without leaving the form.

Where the record comes from a search rather than being the one the form is open in, set the Search Results field's click action to Set Field Value, and point both the list's and the viewer's Record ID at that same field. Clicking a row in the search then repopulates both.
