User Searches
The User Searches report lists the record searches people have run, most recent first. For each search it shows who ran it, what they searched for, when, and how many results came back. Use it to see what people are looking for, to find a search that failed, or to re-run a search exactly as it was run before.
Running the report
Open Reports and choose User Searches Report in the Record/Data Reports section. The report runs as soon as it opens, showing the most recent searches by all users.
You can also reach it from the Search by Period chart: selecting a bar on that chart opens this report already filtered to that day, and to the user if one was chosen on the chart.
Use the options below the results to narrow the list, then select Run Report:
- User — one person, or All Users.
- Search Date — the From and To dates of the searches to show.
- Results per Page — how many searches to show on each page.
Once the report has results, a Download button appears next to Run Report. It downloads the full list as a CSV file.
Reading the list
Each row is one search:
- User ID — the person who ran the search.
- Search — a plain-language description of what was searched for. If the description is cut off, hover over it to see the whole thing.
- Date — when the search was run.
- Results — how many records the search found. Failed, shown in red, means the search did not finish because it timed out or ran into an error. The Error Logs report for the same time has the details.
Select Run this Search at the end of a row to open the Search page and run that same search again.
