Identity Indexing
Identity Indexing
The Identity Indexing action gives you a simple way to update your Record with the identity-document data that was extracted from your image(s).
Use this action ONLY when you have OCR'd and SPLIT your documents using Recognize Identity Data mode. That mode reads the identity values and makes them available for use in this action.
Identity documents are single-record documents, so this action works with header-style fields only.
REQUIRES OCR: Documents must already be OCR'd in Identity Indexing mode. The action throws an error if it does not find Identity OCR data on the document.
Supported documents
- US driver's licenses (all 50 states and DC)
- US passports
What gets extracted
Identity fields, including:
- First, middle and last name
- Document number (license number or passport number)
- Date of birth
- Sex
- Address (where present on the document)
- Issuing authority / state
- Date of issue
- Date of expiration
- Country (for passports)
Options
Header Fields — This section lets you specify in which Record fields to write the identity data. For each data type, select or type the name of the field in which to write the value found on the document.
TIPS
- Capture the **front** of a driver's license clearly and upright. If you scan both sides, split them so the front is the page this action reads from.
- The Default Date Format setting (Admin > Main Options > AI) governs how ambiguous dates of birth, issue, and expiration are interpreted.
- Identity data is sensitive — consider running an **AI Auto-Annotate** redaction step downstream if these documents will be stored alongside less-controlled material.
NOTE ON (AI): Reading the document with OCR/AI consumes tokens and may incur extra fees. Check with your sales rep for more information.
