Receipt Indexing
Receipt Indexing
The Receipt Indexing action gives you a simple way to update your Record with the receipt data that was extracted from your image(s).
Use this action ONLY when you have OCR'd and SPLIT your documents using Recognize Receipt Data mode. That mode reads the receipt values and makes them available for use in this action.
Receipts are single-receipt records, so this action works with header-style fields only — itemized line detail is not extracted at the indexing layer.
REQUIRES OCR: Documents must already be OCR'd in Receipt Indexing mode. The action throws an error if it does not find Receipt OCR data on the document.
What gets extracted
Receipt fields, including:
- Merchant name and address
- Merchant phone number
- Transaction date and time
- Subtotal, tax and total amount
- Tip
- Payment method (where present)
Options
Header Fields — This section lets you specify in which Record fields to write the receipt data. For each data type, select or type the name of the field in which to write the value found on the receipt.
TIPS
- Make sure each receipt has been split into its own document (one receipt per document) before this action runs.
- Receipts vary in quality and layout. The Default Date Format setting (Admin > Main Options > AI) governs how ambiguous dates are interpreted.
NOTE ON (AI): Reading the receipt with OCR/AI consumes tokens and may incur extra fees. Check with your sales rep for more information.
